Kensington Runestone Park is located just outside of Alexandria, MN. With a full-on viking museum, this park is full of lush grasses, beautiful trees, and some of the best lighting of any location I’ve ever been to in Minnesota.
I’ve said it before, but I really do love natural engagement sessions. When we arrived to Kensington Runestone Park, I could just tell that this was a perfect location. Rachel & Jimmy live in Fargo, so Kensington Runestone Park was a great middle-meeting place for us & was worth the drive!
We started Rach + Jim’s engagement session in the grassy parts of Kensington Runestone Park & finished across the road on some wooded trails. This park is a tourist location, but felt so secluded and quiet (aside from the bugs that were swarming us the entire time). I believe we were the only people at the park, which was nice! It meant we weren’t dodging around people and waiting for the right moments to get “the shot.”
The lighting was absolutely perfect and the sun FINALLY started peeking out at the end of our session. We were able to get some super dreamy shots with the soft sunset behind Rach + Jim.
Jimmy has viking heritage, so being at Kensington Runestone Park and getting to walk around inside the little museum made him so giddy. When I offered to get some photos in there for him, he practically ran to the building to choose a spot. Coming out of the museum was a super cute awning/porch area that feels industrial, which added some variety to this gallery which I LOVE!
Ugh, I am just so excited to share these with everyone!!! Rachel + Jim were also totally into the Spiderman shirt that I wore & I just know their wedding will be such a blast!! For more engagements like this, check out this blog post!
