Wedding photographers in Duluth are few and far between. Many of us can’t handle the brisk winds and brutally cold temps that the town has to offer. BUT Duluth has been on my list of places to photograph a wedding since before we moved here. When Ashley & Andy inquired with us, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I had heard from others that it’s full of cliffside views, and their wedding venue sits perfectly on the water.
I didn’t know what to expect other than what I’d seen in photos of people I know. When we arrived in Duluth, it looked like any ordinary town; full of highways and road construction, but when we got to downtown Duluth, it looked like the cutest little german-inspired town. I fell in love immediately; my heart loves small-town feels since I came from a small town. I may be a wedding photographer IN Duluth, but I’ll never turn down the opportunity to visit.
Unfortunately, the beach we wanted to do the photos at was closed to the public, so we wound up at Leif Erikson Park. This park had European-esque gardens, brick paths, and those incredible cliff-side views I’d been hoping for. It could not have been any more perfect for this engagement session in Duluth. It probably tops my list of favorite engagement session locations. Ashley and Andy are one of the most joyful, fun-spirited couples we’ve ever had the chance of working with. They were laughing, booty-bumping, and twirling their way through the entire session together. We even got to enjoy a fun dinner with them in the downtown district of Duluth!
Their wedding will be held at a beautiful lodge-style venue in Duluth in August 2022. We are so excited to continue to be a part of their love story! Cheers to the (soon-to-be) Mr. & Mrs.!
