Although my time as a wedding photographer in Houston has been short lived, I enjoyed every second of it.
I love all things simple; probably because I’m a pretty simple gal. So when Sam & Tyler asked me if I wanted to shoot their wedding for them, I was both honored & excited. Houston is probably one of my favorite cities to photograph weddings because the possibilities are absolutely endless.
For those of you that don’t know, Samantha is my sister. I shot her engagement/maternity photos and her senior photos. We have a pretty unique relationship & we’ve both been through a lot. Being fairly new to the wedding photography business, I wanted to make sure that I got things just right for my little sister’s wedding. I mean, it’s not everyday that a photographer gets to shoot their SISTER’S wedding.
Everything about this wedding was simple and refined in the best ways. There were no frills or expensive decorations; but my entire family was there, so I was thankful for the opportunity to be there in such a special way. Tyler’s family was the sweetest bunch of people that I’ve ever met, so I was glad I had the opportunity to meet them (plus they seemed pretty impressed that I drove all the way to Houston to be my sister’s wedding photographer).
The ceremony was incredible, but the reception… WOW! The bridal party was literally the life of the party. They danced during the entire reception and were really just moving and grooving to the music that Colton was playing. We even got to have a couple dances with them, so that was pretty awesome! Overall, I think we can say that this was a successful wedding and that we’re so glad we were able to do this for Sam & Tyler because it’s once in a lifetime!
